SAN FRANCISCO, July 1st, 2014 –As part of The Garage’s Resident Artist Workshop (RAW) Series (a 12-week residency program with 4-6 hours of free rehearsal space that culminates in a two night performance) LV Dance Collective—a Bay Area Based Contemporary Fusion Performance company founded in 2013, under Artistic Direction of founders/choreographers KAO VEY SAEPHANH and MARTHA L. ZEPEDA—will be hosting their first home season dance production: CODE. This performance will include the investigation of past works through a new lens, sjDANCEco ChoreoAward Collaborative Choreography “Quest For Truth”, and two new world premiers. The productions overall theme “CODE” explores the search for truth and identity and how that is influenced by cultural expectation. LVDC makes strong convincing statements through quirky disguised messages. In this production both Saephanh and Zepeda have taken choreographic risks while focusing on re-connecting identity in the various forms that they have selected to explore.
